Sicily!
I cannot promise that my posts will be quite as regular over the next two weeks, as Angie and I are heading today to Sicily and a flat in Palermo for two weeks, from where we will explore as much if the island as we can. ( and thanks in passing to the relatives who will keep an eye on the house while I'm gone)
But you never know, I may be so inspired. And there seems to be so much going on in the history and present of this huge island. Phonecians, Greeks, Arabs, Normans, Bourbons and Garibaldis (ok, I slightly tweaked the list to make it more biscuity). And palazzos and duomi and esspressi (is that the plural?)
And we are packing swimsuits and rock shoes so will be finding warm beaches to swim off. I cannot wait.
I have to admit that one thing that tweaked our noses towards this destination was watching the recent Netflix version of 'The talented Mr Ripley' which makes 1950s Italy look so Black&White edible! And one of the episodes has a glorious vista of Palermo, which sealed the deal.
And lemons and Mafia, did I mention those too? I cannot wait!

enjoy!
