Zero Day plus Twelve - Is that a corner I see in front of me?

It was only after I got up and sat in the chair this morning waiting for breakfast, that I suddenly thought: "Oh my God, I have just spent five days and nights in bed!". When you are hot and sick and your brain is all boiled up you sometimes lose track of things such as "that this was my longest period of horizontality since I learned to walk!"

So today I have not been burning up and have been out of bed all day. Even when I needed a nap, I jut lay down on top of it. But I also need to not forget that at one point in the afternoon I did blip up to 39 degrees again. But the change has been lovely, even though I would say if I suddenly was dropped into today that I was 'not well at all'. Everything is comparative, and today's not well at all is so much better than yesterday's 'Take me now Grim Reaper!" as Joanna from Green Wing used to say.

It is also comparative to notice that when I had a shower this afternoon, I felt as if I had just done ten rounds with Tyson Fury. Things that were completely insignificant last week now loom as big things that have to be planned for very hard. One does not simply 'walk' into the shower, as Boromir says.

And as a final nice present to myself this afternoon, before then winter sun finally dipped over Addenbrokes, I dressed up in my warmest clothes and went for the slowest, shortest walk that I have taken in years. But it was lovely, and here is a photo. I am smiling behind the Cyberman mask.
