Zero Day plus ten. Slow progress
High point of the day was getting up for my first shower in five days. Yuck, you can lose all standards when you're sick. Also, generally my appetite has mainly returned, even for some hospital food.
The most irritating thing is that the new RSV lung infection that I contracted some time in the last 10 days makes me cough so much that my side muscles now hurt. So each cough hurts me as well as reminding me that my body has nothing to fight it with. I am on strong antibiotics and they also said my own cells will start to get back into action (stem cell superheroes pulling off their Clark Kent jackets to reveal themselves as platelets or leukocytes or white blood cells). But this is still definitely the bottom of the curve and I can't wait to be slightly moving upwards again.
But also I suppose one good sign is that I have just about the energy to type a post on my mobile 🙂. Let's Turn that frown upside down, as a sarcastic former colleague used to say.
Come on, stem cell superheroes! Do your stuff!

ReplyDeleteOh what blooming hard luck to get something else on top...very frustrating... At least thankful that you feel hungry again, that's always a good sign.. In a few days you'll feel different, that's for sure. 👍💞
